How does participating in a local parents time-banking community sound? Not sure what it is? It’s a pretty simple concept.
Each hour you give earns you a credit in the time bank. You can spend your credit when you need help with anything. This is an exciting different way of giving your time and by asking others for help, you can benefit from using their skills or learning new ones yourself.
For example, you are batch cooking and would be happy to spare the food and share with another family. Let’s say you spent an hour on cooking, this would earn you 1 credit. The following week your child needs assistance with his French, and there is a parent within your time bank who is a French tutor and you can spend your credit on an hour lesson with them. Pretty neat, right?
By offering your time and skill to help out other parents within the community will earn you credit, which will be put into your time bank account.
You can seek help from other parents in your local time-banking community and spend your credit on the skill sets that they offer.
